2012 Volkswagen Touareg TDI Lux

The VW Touareg has been a hit from day one. I’ve heard may people hope into the driver’s seat and comment “This is a Volkswagen?” That being said, the first series was getting a little long in the tooth, so the 2011 redesign was a much anticipated upgrade to an already class leading SUV. VW did not disappoint. The second version shed just about 400 pounds and increased the vehicle structures rigidity to provide better on-pavement performance. That’s no small gain considering that this vehicle was co-designed with Porsche and I believe it is the best handling midsize SUV on the market. The Touareg comes very well optioned from the factory as a base model. Adding the Lux package gives you the 19-inch wheels, a huge "panoramic" power sunroof, heated side view mirrors, walnut cabin accents, leather upholstery, 12-way power front seats (with power lumbar support for the driver), driver memory presets and power rear seat releases. The TDI version features a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 good for 225 hp and a whopping 406 lb-ft of torque and fantastic fuel mileage. This vehicle can hold its own with the BMW X5 and M-Class Mercedes in both performance and luxury. Fortunately for you anyone shopping this segment of SUV will find there really is no looser in the bunch.
